ROUNDUP: Chambers lifts Cougars past Southeast field

Melanie Chambers shot 4-over-par 64 at Desert Willow on Thursday to lead Coronado’s girls golf team to victory in a Southeast League meet.
The Cougars carded a team score of 281. Green Valley was second at 292, followed by Foothill at 316.
Green Valley’s Sarah Thomas was the medalist with a 61. The Gators’ Mercedes Khumnark and Kristen Hsu, and Silverado’s Brittany Whatley each shot 65.
Faith Lutheran claims rain-shortened match
At Palm Valley, Annie Freman carded a 1-under 35 to help Faith Lutheran to a one-stroke win in a Northwest League meet that was shortened to nine holes for rain.
The Crusaders, who also got a 38 from Brianna Becker, had a team score of 163. Kiley Ballew shot 38 to lead Arbor View to 164. Palo Verde was third at 170, followed by Cimarron-Memorial at 187.
