ROUNDUP: Chun leads Gorman to sweep of Bonanza

Kylie Chun had 26 assists, three aces and four kills, and Breanna Rubalcaba had 20 digs and two aces Tuesday as Bishop Gorman’s girls volleyball team took sole possession of first place in the Southwest League with a 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 win over visiting Bonanza.

Gianna Ruggeroli added 12 kills, and Shelby Devlin and Emma Kirst each supplied seven kills and five blocks for Gorman (14-7, 8-0 Southwest).

Bree Hammel had 11 kills and seven digs, and Lauren Karn dished out 22 assists for Bonanza (18-7, 7-1).

Centennial 3, Palo Verde 0 — At Palo Verde, Kaitlin Kelly had 12 kills and six digs as the Bulldogs downed the Panthers, 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Ashley Hill added 14 digs for the Bulldogs, who got 16 assists, seven kills and seven digs from Lacy Miyahira.

Stephanie Herman paced Palo Verde with 19 assists and five digs, and Lexi Riggs added 11 digs, nine kills and six aces for the Panthers.

Arbor View 3, Mojave 0 — At Mojave, Micaila McErlean served 13 aces, and Allison McClure added 10 aces as the Aggies notched a 25-9, 25-4, 25-13 win over the Rattlers.

Natalie Stepna supplied five kills for Arbor View.

Celeste Manumaleuna led Mojave with six aces.

Shadow Ridge 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Courtney Stout supplied eight kills and seven digs, and Jasmine Burton added 12 digs to lead the Mustangs to a 25-18, 25-17, 25-19 sweep of the Longhorns.

Bianca Boyt had five kills, and Ashly Goor contributed four blocks and three aces to lead Legacy.

Faith Lutheran 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Faith Lutheran, Kelsey McCourt had 30 assists, and Sam Leonard supplied six aces and six kills as the Crusaders routed the Spartans, 25-6, 25-11, 25-9.

Vanessa Sigman added five kills for Faith Lutheran.

Toree Manumaleuna had five kills, and Amy Phommachit added five digs to lead Cimarron.

Sierra Vista 3, Clark 0 — At Sierra Vista, Kennedy Roskick had nine kills, and Stephanie Diaz added four aces as the Mountain Lions swept the Chargers, 25-19, 25-15, 25-17.

Schae Mores led Clark with three kills.

Durango 3, Western 0 — At Durango, Sarah Tullis had 28 assists, and Hailee Wilson had 15 kills as the Trailblazers swept the Warriors, 25-16, 25-8, 25-21.

Carol Riggs distributed 15 assists, and Brittany Moreland added six digs for Western.

Desert Oasis 3, Spring Valley 1 — At Spring Valley, Brittney Jensen had 24 digs, and Kindra Stanfield had 17 assists to help lead the Diamondbacks to a 25-10, 23-25, 25-9, 25-13 victory over the Grizzlies.

Rebecca Bullard added nine kills for Desert Oasis.

Tori Patterson had 17 assists, Nicole Rafay supplied 11 kills, and Rachel Milam posted six kills for Spring Valley.

Moapa Valley 3, Cheyenne 0 — At Cheyenne, the Pirates were 25-11, 25-18, 25-19, winners over the Desert Shields.

Avion Calhoun led Cheyenne with five kills.

Boulder City 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Desert Pines, Avalon Frantz had 18 assists and nine aces in the Eagles’ 25-5, 25-9, 25-8 rout of the Jaguars.

Mallory Bird and Whitney Barlow each had six kills for Boulder City.

Calvary Chapel 3, Lake Mead 0 — At Lake Mead, Maddy Satelo posted five kills and four blocks to help the Lions sweep the Eagles, 25-20, 25-19, 26-24.

Brettani Davis added 12 digs, four aces and three kills for Calvary Chapel, which got 13 digs and 11 assists from Brooke Davis and six kills from Jamie Mejia.

McKenna Beckwith supplied four kills and nine digs for the Lions.

Colleen Zumaran had eight kills and 18 digs to lead Lake Mead, and teammate Megan Watkins had eight assists, four aces and 10 digs. Taylor Vetter contributed 30 digs for the Eagles.

The Meadows 2-2, Mountain View 0-0 — At The Meadows, Alex Hall supplied 12 assists and six kills in the first match and 10 assists and five digs in the nightcap to lead the Mustangs to a 27-25, 25-21 and 25-17, 25-23 sweep of the Saints.

Hannah Brown had seven kills in the first match and five kills in the second match for The Meadows, which got nine digs in the opener, and five kills and five digs in the nightcap from Amber Peterson.
