ROUNDUP: Ekanger paces Coronado boys to victory

Alan Ekanger won a 2.85-mile race in 15 minutes, 25.1 seconds to lead Coronado’s boys cross country team to victory in a three-team meet Tuesday at Sonata Park.
The Cougars won with 23 points, followed by Green Valley (32) and Liberty (85).
Green Valley’s Christian Fortner took second in 15:54.1, and Coronado’s Alex Tarangel was third in 16:04.8.
Depth carries Falcons to win
At Foothill, the host Falcons had three of the top four finishers to win a five-team meet.
Foothill took first with 24 points, followed by Silverado (52), Boulder City (79), Basic (94) and Sunrise Mountain (117).
Basic’s Jonathan Stiles won the 2.5-mile race in 13:24.6. Foothill’s Brian Marshall was second in 13:31.2, followed by teammate Kyler Campbell at 14:00.
Decker leads Aggies to victory
At Floyd Lamb Park, Shelby Decker won the 2.9-mile race in 17:13 to lead Arbor View to victory in a five-team meet.
Arbor View won with 17 points, followed by Legacy (51) and Faith Lutheran (99). Oasis Christian was fourth with 109, one point better than Indian Springs.
Arbor View’s Justin Miller was second in 17:21, and teammate Quinn Gallagher took third in 17:27.
Manzone leads Diamondbacks to victory
At Desert Oasis, Benjamin Manzone won a 3.1-mile race in 18:21 to lead the host Diamondbacks to victory in a four-team meet.
Desert Oasis posted 26 points, edging Spring Valley (30). Western took third with 116, and Adelson School was fourth with 131.
Desert Oasis’ Frankie Martinez was second in 18:56, followed by teammate Nathaniel Jacobi in 19:35.
Depth helps Shadow Ridge to win
At Shadow Ridge, the host Mustangs used its depth to win a four-team meet.
Shadow Ridge won with 24 points, topping Palo Verde (43), Cimarron-Memorial (70) and Moapa Valley (120).
Palo Verde’s Naweed Yusufzai won the 3.1-mile race in 18:20, followed by Shadow Ridge teammates Steven Roundy (18:29) and Andy Blaine (18:41).
Durango takes four of top five to win meet
At Pahrump, Sam Mesgun and Brandon Oxborrow took the top two spots to lead Durango to the win in a three-team meet.
Megsun won the 2.97-mile race in 17:09, with Oxbarrow second in 17:25 for Durango, which took four of the top five spots to finish with 19 points.
Pahrump Valley was second at 46, with Bishop Gorman third at 67.
