ROUNDUP: Hammel helps Bengals slip past Mountain Lions

Bree Hammel posted 20 kills and 14 digs, and Lauren Karn supplied 45 assists and 13 digs Wednesday to help Bonanza’s girls volleyball team outlast visiting Sierra Vista, 23-25, 25-7, 15-25, 25-17, 15-9.

Jessica Wilcox had 15 kills and seven digs for the Bengals.

Faith Lutheran 3, Palo Verde 2 — At Palo Verde, Kelsey McCourt racked up 42 assists and 12 digs as the Crusaders rallied for a 22-25, 12-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-12 win over the Panthers.

Taylor Richards added 15 kills and seven digs, and Vanessa Sigman had nine kills and eight digs for Faith Lutheran.

Stephanie Herman paced the Panthers with 35 assists, 10 digs and five aces. Lexi Riggs added 11 kills, nine digs and three aces, and Mikayla Diers had five kills and five blocks for Palo Verde, which got 17 digs from Faryn Duncan.

Clark 3, Western 1 — At Clark, Alexis Springs supplied eight aces and five kills to lead the Chargers to a 25-15, 25-8, 25-27, 25-16 victory over the Warriors.

Jessica Silva had eight kills, and Michelle Diamant added seven kills for Clark.

Paea Savou dished out nine assists, and Aleya Ford-Wheaton supplied six kills for Western.

Pahrump Valley 3, Spring Valley 0 — At Spring Valley, Shannon Schmidt dished out 18 assists, and Taylor McJunkin spiked 16 kills to lift the Trojans to a sweep of the Grizzlies, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14.

Reegan Van Engen added five blocks for Pahrump.

Rachel Milam tallied 11 kills and 11 digs, and Tori Patterson had 18 assists for Spring Valley.

Bishop Gorman 3, Desert Oasis 0 — At Gorman, Kylee Chun recorded 33 assists, six aces and five kills to help the Gaels notch a 25-21, 25-12, 25-15 sweep of the Diamondbacks.

Breanna Rubalcaba had 13 digs, Taylor Cason added 10 digs, and Shelby Devlin spiked seven kills for Gorman.

Shadow Ridge 3, Cimarron-Memorial 0 — At Cimarron, Destinee Beavers had 16 kills and 22 digs to lead the Mustangs to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-16 sweep of the Spartans.

Alauna Baker had seven kills, and Jewelynn Yapching added five aces for Shadow Ridge.

Toree Manumaleuna had 12 kills and nine digs for Cimarron. Jenna-Kaya Charles dished out 13 assists for the Spartans, and Sarah Lutjens tallied six digs.

Mojave 3, Cheyenne 1 — At Mojave, Chelsea Washington had 13 kills and three digs to help the Rattlers defeat the Desert Shields, 19-25, 25-11, 25-22, 25-22.

Celeste Manumaleuna added two aces, two digs and eight kills, and Del Hodge supplied four aces and seven assists for Mojave.

Lorriane Moliga notched six kills, two blocks and two digs for Cheyenne, which got five kills from Avion Calhoun and three kills from Erin McNally.

Centennial 3, Legacy 0 — At Legacy, Lacy Miyahira had nine assists, seven digs, six kills and five aces to lead the Bulldogs to a 25-11, 25-6, 25-13 sweep of the Longhorns.

Ashley Hill posted seven digs and five aces, and Kassidy Welte added seven aces and five kills for Centennial. 

Durango 3, Virgin Valley 1 — At Mesquite, Hailee Wilson had nine kills to rally the Trailblazers to a 22-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-16 win over the Bulldogs.

Cheyenne Haas added five kills and three blocks for Durango, which got 13 digs from Mariah Fuentes and 17 assists from Sarah Tullis.

Alora Bonner had nine kills, five aces, seven blocks and 18 digs for the Bulldogs. Nikki Arquette had 20 assists, four kills and four aces for Virgin Valley.

Virgin Valley's Abbie Barnard tallied six kills, five blocks and nine digs, and Morgan Cheney supplied four kills and eight digs.
