ROUNDUP: Karbowniczek, Jackson clinch Northwest top seed for Panther boys

Alex Karbowniczek and Richie Jackson delivered the clinching doubles win in the final match on the court Monday to lift Palo Verde’s boys tennis team to a 10-8 win over visiting Centennial.
The doubles teams of Tanner Berkabile and Josh Kaplan, and Ozzy Abraham and Connor Safbom each went 3-0 for the Panthers, who improved to 8-0 in the Northwest League and wrapped up the league’s top seed for the Sunset Region playoffs.
Zack Surmacz was 2-1 in singles for Palo Verde.
Travis Beck went 3-0 in singles for Centennial, which fell to 7-1 in league play and will be a No. 2 seed for the region tournament. Lucas Lee and Greg Madsen each went 2-1 in singles for the Bulldogs.
Clark 11, Bishop Gorman 7 — At Gorman, Kristofer Yee, Joseph Maalouf and Deric Pang each went 3-0 in singles to help the Chargers defeat the Gaels.
Clark, which improved to 7-0 in the Southwest League, secured the league’s top seed for the Sunset Region playoffs.
The doubles teams of Michael Bessen and Jalen Paulos, and Cody Miller and Joseph Connors were 3-0 for Gorman.
Chaparral 15, Moapa Valley 3 — At Chaparral, Levi Lawrence, Martelle Barlaw and Eric Hansen each went 3-0 in singles to lead the Cowboys past the Pirates.
Kade Bryant and Camden Stratton were 3-0 in doubles for Moapa Valley.
Spring Valley 11, Sierra Vista 7 — At Spring Valley, the doubles teams of Eric Clark and Alex Tesaka, and Michael McLaughlin and Garett Nelson each went 3-0 to help the Grizzlies down the Mountain Lions.
Sihao Chen went 3-0 in singles to lead Sierra Vista.
Bonanza 14, Durango 4 — At Bonanza, the doubles teams of Jacob Mabey and Bennett Tanner, and Taylor Thuet and Brian Clow both went 3-0 as the Bengals topped the Trailblazers.
Valley 11, Eldorado 7 — At Valley, Jack Heavey and David Delaney each finished 3-0 in singles to lead the Vikings past the Sundevils.
Joey Barnhurst and Seattle Stoneback were 3-0 in doubles for Eldorado.
Coronado 12, Tech 6 — At Coronado, Michael Boyd and Patrick Crockett went 3-0 in doubles to help the Cougars past the Roadrunners.
Coronado clinched the Southeast League’s No. 1 seed for the Sunrise Region tournament.
Green Valley 16, Silverado 2 — At Silverado, Parker Phelps and Jake Johnson went 3-0 in doubles as the Gators rolled past the Skyhawks.
Aditya Ingle was 2-0 in singles for Green Valley.
Desert Oasis 12, Western 6 — At Desert Oasis, Tryston Brawe and Mohammad Eddick went 2-0 in doubles as the Diamondbacks defeated the Warriors.
Braden Smith and Steven Glad each went 2-1 in singles for Western.
Liberty 13, Basic 5 — At Liberty, Chitnarong Sopat was 3-0 in singles as the Patriots defeated the Wolves.
Foothill 17, Del Sol 1 — At Foothill, Avery Burton and Nick Stocker went 3-0 in doubles as the Falcons routed the Dragons.
Las Vegas 12, Sunrise Mountain 0 — The Wildcats won by forfeit and wrapped up the Northeast League’s top seed for the Sunrise Region playoffs.
Rancho 12, Desert Pines 0 — The Rams won by forfeit.
Adelson School at Canyon Springs — The Lions’ match against the Pioneers was a double forfeit as neither team fielded the minimum six players.
