ROUNDUP: Mijares leads Centennial girls into playoffs with win over Legacy

Alyza Mijares finished 3-0 in singles play Tuesday to help Centennial’s girls tennis team wrap up a spot in the Sunset Region playoffs with a 14-4 home win over Legacy.

Megan Badger was 2-1 in singles for Centennial, which finished 5-3-1 for fourth place in the Northwest League, one game ahead of Arbor View. 

Coronado 16, Silverado 2 — At Coronado, the doubles teams of Allie Sanford and Lea Cohen, and Marina Arriola and Kayla Carolton each went 3-0 as the Cougars routed the Skyhawks.

Bishop Gorman 14, Durango 4 — At Gorman, Chelsea Crovetti and Brooke Swallow each went 2-0 in singles to help the Gaels cruise past the Trailblazers.

Andrea Melo and Katie Moore were 3-0 in doubles for Durango.

Bonanza 13, Spring Valley 5 — At Spring Valley, the doubles teams of Julie Speraw and Lauren Smith, and Marnie Nelson and Emma Nelson each went 3-0 as the Bengals downed the Grizzlies.

Tiffany Tavares was 3-0 in singles for Spring Valley.

Faith Lutheran 16, Cheyenne 2 — At Cheyenne, Stacie Graham, Vanessa Lee and Taylor Zeino each went 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders rolled the Desert Shields.

Palo Verde 17, Cimarron-Memorial 1— At Cimarron, Victoire Saperstein went 3-0 in singles to lead the Panthers to a rout of the Spartans.

Megan Randazzo and Sarah Sanders went 3-0 in doubles, and Jade Powell and Michaela Jackson were 2-0 in doubles for Palo Verde.

Eldorado 12, Del Sol 6 — At Eldorado, Alexis Sama, Ruth Mejia and Arely Diaz each went 2-0 in singles as the Sundevils defeated the Dragons.

Abby Marasigan and Margeaux Martinez were 2-0 in doubles for Eldorado.

Arbor View 10, Shadow Ridge 8 — At Arbor View, Takeyrah Reed went 3-0 in singles as the Aggies edged the Mustangs.

Desert Oasis 14, Adelson School 4 — At Desert Oasis, Lauren Dumond went 2-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Jessica Alberro and Savanna Spears was 2-0 as the Diamondbacks cruised past the Lions.

Jessica Laloy went 2-1 in singles for Adelson School. 

Clark 13, Virgin Valley 5 — At Mesquite, the Chargers easily dispatched the Bulldogs.

The Meadows 16, Mojave 2 — At The Meadows, the Mustangs routed the Rattlers.

Sierra Vista 13, Western 5 — At Sierra Vista, the Mountain Lions topped the Warriors.
