ROUNDUP: Priego helps Dragons edge Skyhawks, Jaguars

Nick Priego won a 2.95-mile race in 16 minutes, 33 seconds to lead Del Sol’s boys cross country team to first place in a three-team meet Tuesday at Sonata Park.

Del Sol won with 26 points, edging Silverado (29) and Desert Pines (82).

Silverado’s Jonathan Aman was second in 17:32, and Del Sol’s Obed Mireku took third in 17:37.

Liberty nips Valley, Foothill
At Foothill, Colin Schultz took third in a 2.5-mile race in 13:50.4 to help Liberty score 54 points and edge Valley (56) and Foothill (59).

Boulder City was fourth with 63 points, and Eldorado took fifth with 112.

Valley’s Alec McMillan won in 13:38, folowed by Eldorado’s Eddie Esquivel in 13:45.7.

Cobb, Panthers roll to win
At Cheyenne, Nick Cobb won a 2.6-mile race in 14:18 as Palo Verde breezed to victory in a four-team meet.

The Panthers had a team score of 19. Arbor View took second with 57, followed by Cheyenne with 85 and Moapa Valley with 95.

The Desert Shields’ Taikye Wright-Brown was second in 14:29.

Blaine, Mustangs cruise
At Shadow Ridge, Andy Blaine won a 3.1-mile race in 17:37, and the Mustangs were the only school to field a full team.

Shadow Ridge’s Nick Oberdin was second in 17:53, and teammate Tyler Pisciotta took third in 17:58.

Depth leads Virgin Valley to win
At Bonanza, Virgin Valley had five of the top 11 finishers on its way to 43 points and a victory over Bonanza (52), Desert Oasis (58) and Pahrump Valley (79).

Desert Oasis' Frankie Martinez won the 3.1-mile race in 17:18, followed by Bonanza's Jonathan Billings (18:02) and Bonanza's Robert Rudd (18:24).

GIRLS

Depth helps host Falcons win
At Foothill, the host Falcons had five of the top six finishers on their way to 20 points and a victory over Boulder City (57) and Eldorado (59).

Boulder City’s Jessica Tobler won the 2.5-mile race in 15:42.4.

Foothill’s Alyse Vanek took second in 16:52.7, and teammate Raegan Janda was third in 16:55.2.

Silverado tops Del Sol, Desert Pines
At Sonata Park, Silverado had three of the top four finishers on its way to 23 points and a victory over Del Sol (44) and Desert Pines (69).

Del Sol’s Theresa Marcos won on a 2.95-mile course in 21:13, followed by Silverado’s Maria Rodriguez (22:13) and Mercedes Bravo (22:21).

Suan leads Panthers to sweep
At Cheyenne, Marissa Suan won a 2.6-mile race in 16:27, and the Panthers took the top five spots en route to a win in a four-team meet.

Palo Verde had a team score of 15. Arbor View was second with 51, followed by Cheyenne with 89 and Moapa Valley with 106.

Samantha Reintjes of Palo Verde was second in 16:58.

Jackson, Mustangs dominate
At Shadow Ridge, Ciara Jackson won a 3.1-mile race in 21:35, and the Mustangs were the only school to field a full team.

Shadow Ridge’s Gina Ewing-Di Bari took second in 22:13, and teammate Madison Sanchez was third in 22:18.

Adams leads Bonanza to victory
At Bonanza, Emily Adams won a 3.1-mile race in 21:02 to lead Bonanza to 35 points and a victory over Pahrump Valley (53), Desert Oasis (68) and Virgin Valley (92).

Pahrump Valley's Stefanie Thelaner was second in 21:26, followed by teammate Jackie Sanchez in 21:31.
