ROUNDUP: Saperstein allows Panther girls to hold off Mustangs in Sunset final rematch

Victoire Saperstein went 3-0 in singles play Wednesday to help Palo Verde’s girls tennis team to a narrow 10-8 home win over The Meadows in a rematch of last year’s Sunset Region final, which was won by the Mustangs.

Tia Okano went 2-1 in singles for Palo Verde.

Amanda Brazell and Erika Reitern teamed to go 3-0 in doubles, and Taler Brazell was 2-1 in singles for The Meadows.

Faith Lutheran 10, Centennial 8 — At Faith Lutheran, Renee Vogel and Kathleen Wright each went 3-0 in singles as the Crusaders nipped the Bulldogs.

Lexi Smith and Kristina Berg went 2-1 in doubles, including winning a tiebreaker in their second set, for Faith Lutheran.

Genica Chow and Jade Navato were 3-0 in doubles for Centennial.

Cimarron-Memorial 11, Legacy 7 — At Legacy, Elena Schmid was 3-0 in singles as the Spartans defeated the Longhorns.

Nisha Johnson went 2-1 in singles for Cimarron.

Legacy’s doubles team of Ashley Mayberry and Kailyn Strong was 3-0.

Desert Oasis 13, Sierra Vista 5 — At Sierra Vista, Phenix Johnson and Savanna Spears went 3-0 in doubles as the Diamondbacks topped the Mountain Lions.

Drew Cockerill was 3-0 singles in Sierra Vista.

Bonanza 16, Virgin Valley 2 — At Bonanza, Ericka Smith was 3-0 in singles, and the doubles team of Maddie Sutton and Taylor Gordy-Prescott also went 3-0 as the Bengals routed the Bulldogs.

Alison Matlovic was 2-0 in singles for Bonanza, which had the doubles teams of Marnie Nelson and Emma Nelson, and Julie Speraw and Lauren Smith each go 2-0.

Spring Valley 11, Durango 7 — At Durango, Tiffany Tavares went 3-0 in singles to lift the Grizzlies past the Trailblazers.

Andrea Melo and Katy Moore were 3-0 in doubles for Durango.

Shadow Ridge 14, Cheyenne 4 — At Shadow Ridge, Anna Glover was 3-0 in singles play as the Mustangs defeated the visiting Desert Shields.

Bishop Gorman 12, Western 0 — The Gaels won by forfeit.

Arbor View at Mojave postponed — The Aggies’ match against the Rattlers was postponed due to a lack of transportation.
