ROUNDUP: Veal assists Miners past Sundevils

Tiara Veal had 21 assists and four kills, and Samantha Venerable added 10 digs Monday to lead Sunrise Mountain’s girls volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 win at Eldorado.

Jenae Yurek-Carhee supplied seven kills and five digs for the Miners.

Alexis Vaccaro had six kills and six digs, and Sarah Kanet added seven kills and five digs for the Sundevils, who got five digs from Jenae Keele.

Basic 3, Del Sol 1 — At Del Sol, Tori Foutz tallied 15 kills and six blocks as the Wolves defeated the Dragons, 25-14, 24-26, 25-23, 27-25.

Desiree Orozco dished out 30 assists, and Emma Coleman spiked 11 kills for Del Sol.

Foothill 3, Liberty 1 — At Foothill, Zoe Wolfenbarger compiled 23 assists and eight kills as the Falcons posted a 25-10, 17-25, 25-20, 25-17 win over the Patriots.

Courtney Martin added eight kills for Foothill.

Katlyn Kapral paced Liberty with 11 kills and five blocks.

Las Vegas 3, Desert Pines 0 — At Las Vegas High, Tiffany Jackson had 16 assists and three digs to help the Wildcats cruise past the Jaguars, 25-10, 25-6, 25-7.

Marissa Lair helped Las Vegas with five kills and four aces. Desirae Lair supplied four aces, four digs and three kills for the Wildcats, and Nina White added 10 aces and six digs.

Jazzmin Avalos had seven digs for Desert Pines.

Coronado 3, Silverado 0 — At Coronado, Brooke Garlick compiled 14 digs, 12 kills and two aces in the Cougars’ 25-21, 25-13, 25-23 sweep of the Skyhawks.

Kuulei Piena added 14 digs and 13 kills, and Ally Keller supplied 12 kills and three blocks for Coronado, which got 31 assists from Lia Herlosky.

Valley 3, Canyon Springs 0 — At Valley, Lenore Porter had 30 assists, eight digs and five aces to lead the Vikings past the Pioneers, 25-16, 25-15, 25-15.

Nyla Whalum added 24 digs, and Jana Aquino added nine kills and eight digs for Valley, which got eight kills from Diva Carter.

Natasha Montano led Canyon Springs with seven assists, and teammate Melane Miller added five kills.

Chaparral 3, Rancho 0 — At Chaparral, Jessica Gatchalian had 14 aces and two kills, and Rita Mesa-Mola added 11 kills and five blocks to lead the Cowboys past the Rams, 25-18, 25-18, 25-19.

Jaeda Allen supplied 12 kills and two blocks, and Cheyenne Huntsman had eight digs, three aces and two kills for Chaparral.

Chanel Eliason led Rancho with seven digs and two aces.

Green Valley 3, Tech 0 — At Tech, Ally Seidler dished out 19 assists as the Gators swept the Roadrunners, 25-11, 25-9, 25-12.

Amanda Lake recorded five kills and four digs for Green Valley, which got five kills apiece from Sommer King and Bridget Dwyer.

Palo Verde 3, Legacy 0 — At Palo Verde, Stephanie Herman had 18 assists, six aces and four digs as the Panthers breezed to a 25-15, 25-13, 25-16 win over the Longhorns.

Kendall Cheval added nine kills, three digs and two aces, and Melanie Gueorguiev supplied five digs, four blocks and three blocks for Palo Verde.
