ROUNDUP: Zacarias breaks through as Spartans edge Panthers

Gera Zacarias netted the deciding goal with four minutes to play Friday to lift Cimarron-Memorial’s boys soccer team to a 2-1 win over visiting Palo Verde.

Zacarias stole the ball near the midfield stripe against an attacking Panther offense and went in unmarked.

Palo Verde’s goalkeeper stumbled, which allowed Zacarias a clear shot from inside 18 yards for the winning goal.

Oso Valencia’s goal gave the Spartans a 1-0 halftime lead, but an own goal pulled the Panthers into a 1-1 tie in the second half.

Legacy 1, Arbor View 1 — At Legacy, David Sanchez scored a second-half goal to help the Longhorns grab a tie with the Aggies.

Ephrem Waite tallied a first-half goal for Arbor View, which saw its lead evaporate when Jorge Gonzalez played a ball to Sanchez barely 13 minutes after halftime.

Centennial 6, Shadow Ridge 1 — At Shadow Ridge, Blake Frischknecht and Chance Rosa netted two goals and an assist apiece to power the Bulldogs past the Mustangs.

William Dominguez and Phillip Hopper each added a goal for Centennial.

Patrick Kamp tallied Shadow Ridge’s goal.

Spring Valley 2, Durango 1 — At Durango, Daniel Garcia’s goal from a scramble after a corner kick with two minutes to go lifted the Grizzlies past the Trailblazers.

Sergio Borboa also scored for Spring Valley.

Jeremy Allen netted Durango’s goal.

Clark 6, Desert Oasis 1 — At Clark, Juan Regalado notched two goals and an assist as the Chargers pulled away from a 1-1 halftime tie to down the Diamondbacks.

Victor Alvarez and Jorge Betancourt each added a goal and an assist, and Carlos Ramos and Hugo Gonzales also scored for Clark.

Joel Reddick scored for Desert Oasis.

Bishop Gorman 9, Western 1 — At Western, Nick Wesen tallied three goals, and Sean Keith, Cameron Patterson, Austin Moore and J.P. Kennedy each added a goal and an assist as the Gaels routed the Warriors.

Nolan Fuchs and Trace Doehrmann also scored for Gorman.

Jesus Patricio had Western’s goal.

Sierra Vista 6, Pahrump Valley 2 — At Sierra Vista, Truitt Evans and Milan Popovic each had two goals and two assists as the Mountain Lions pulled away from the Trojans.

Miles McRae added a goal and an assist, and Ivan Petrov also scored for Sierra Vista.

Hiram Castro and Bryce Moser scored a goal apiece for Pahrump.

Foothill 2, Virgin Valley 1 — At Foothill, Rodrigo Ampuero’s goal with seven minutes left pushed the Falcons past the Bulldogs.

Dakota Maack also scored for Foothill.

Danny Medina’s goal gave Virgin Valley a 1-0 halftime lead.

Faith Lutheran 2, Show Low (Ariz.) 0 — At Show Low, Ariz., Murad Ahmad had two goals to help the Crusaders blank the Cougars in the opening match of the Show Low Tournament.

John Morretti earned the shutout for Faith Lutheran.

Faith Lutheran 5, St. John’s (Ariz.) 1 — At Show Low, Ariz., D’Khari Hicks tallied two goals to help the Crusaders cruise past the Redskins in the Show Low Tournament.

Sam Stevens added a goal and an assist for Faith Lutheran, which got a goal apiece from Ahmad and Todd Tomburo.

Fernando Tellez had two assists for the Crusaders.

Mojave 1, Moapa Valley 1 — At Mojave, Manny Lindauer’s second-half goal gave the Pirates a tie with the Rattlers.

Roosevelt Solis scored for Mojave.

Basic at Boulder City — The match between the Wolves and Eagles was postponed because of a thunderstorm. A makeup date has not been set.
