ROUNDUP: Late layup lifts Basic girls to upset win

Marquichea Burns hit a layup at the buzzer to give Basic’s girls basketball team a 57-55 home victory over third-ranked Liberty on Friday.
Basic inbounded the ball with 4.5 seconds left to Burns, who drove the length of the court for the game-winning bucket.
Michaela Thomas had 18 points and 16 rebounds to lead Basic. Burns added 12 points, and Brielle Wilke scored 10 for the Wolves.
Jade Washington led Liberty with 16 points. Destiny Whitehead added 11 points and Amanda Delgado had 10 for the Patriots.
Green Valley 83, Coronado 39 — At Coronado, Sarah Pickus had 24 points to lead four Gators in double figures.
Danielle Christenson added 20 points, Jazmine Jarvis scored 17 and Angelica Mack contributed 12 for Green Valley, which outscored the Cougars 54-22 in the middle quarters.
Nicole Ruffino and Sofie Cruz each scored 10 points for Coronado.
Foothill 55, Tech 35 — At Tech, the Falcons jumped to a 15-3 lead after one quarter and rolled to the win.
Alysse Thummel had 13 points to lead Foothill.
Adriana Heredia had 12 points and Julie Harless added 11 for the Roadrunners.
Silverado 69, Del Sol 32 — At Del Sol, the Skyhawks opened up a 39-9 halftime lead en route to the easy win.
Natalie Lainhart had 19 points and Shea Collins added 17 for Silverado.
Christine Marshall led the Dragons with 14 points.
Bishop Gorman 79, Western 28 — At Gorman, Aaryn Ellenberg scored 16 of her 20 points in the first half, and the Gaels grabbed leads of 41-12 after one quarter and 60-13 at the half before cruising to the win.
Chelsie Pitt added 15 points and Amber Lane had 14 for the Gaels.
Michelle Simon paced the Warriors with 16 points.
Sierra Vista 53, Pahrump Valley 36 — At Pahrump, Jeanette Jackson scored 11 of her 21 points in the third quarter, and Sierra Vista closed the game on a 20-7 run to defeat the Trojans.
Toi Simmons and Alyson Kunzi each had 10 points for Pahrump. Simmons also grabbed eight rebounds.
Durango 58, Spring Valley 34 — At Spring Valley, Tiarra Belville scored 26 points to help the Trailblazers cruise past the Grizzlies.
Cherelle Hicks added eight points for Durango, which led 17-4 after the first quarter.
Lauren Bugni led Spring Valley with 10 points.
Desert Oasis 45, Clark 28 — At Desert Oasis, Sammi Tso scored nine of her game-high 15 points in the second quarter to help the Diamondbacks beat the Chargers.
Auburn Smith added 11 points for Desert Oasis.
Michelle Garcia scored a team-high 10 points for Clark, which trailed 20-13 at halftime.
Arbor View 52, Legacy 50 — At Arbor View, Erika Lang hit 4 of 5 free throws down the stretch to seal the victory for the Aggies.
Jena Valenzuela had 16 points and Lang finished with 13 to lead Arbor View, which rallied for the win after trailing by 10 in the third quarter.
Breanah Manley led Legacy with 19 points.
Cheyenne 47, Faith Lutheran 43 — At Faith Lutheran, the Desert Shields outscored the Crusaders 15-7 in the fourth quarter to earn the win.
Janae Brown led Cheyenne with 12 points, and Britnee Shaw scored 11 for the Desert Shields, who shot 9-for-17 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.
Kelsey McCourt led Faith Lutheran with 21 points.
Centennial 86, Shadow Ridge 23 — At Centennial, Alexis Byrd had 30 points, 12 rebounds and six steals, and the Bulldogs used a 46-4 run during the middle two quarters to rout Shadow Ridge.
Courtney Hayes added 20 points, 17 rebounds and seven steals for Centennial. Ashley Klemz scored 16 and Shannon Brown added 10 for the Bulldogs.
Elisha Hensey led the Mustangs with 11 points.
Palo Verde 44, Cimarron-Memorial 35 — At Palo Verde, Alyssa Amoruso scored 10 points to help the Panthers rally from a 23-12 halftime deficit and down the Spartans.
Dominique Bryant added nine points and 10 steals for Palo Verde, and teammate Lily Tapusoa had nine points and 10 rebounds.
Leilani Blanco scored 14 points to lead Cimarron, which lost the lead late in the third quarter.
Boulder City 49, Virgin Valley 34 — At Boulder City, Paxton Fleming dropped four 3-pointers during the Eagles’ 16-6 second-quarter run and lifted Boulder City past the Bulldogs.
Fleming finished with 14 points, and teammate Karlee Koopman scored 13.
Madison Bowler and Rachel Morris had 10 points apiece for Virgin Valley.
Needles 73, The Meadows 17 — At Calvary Chapel, Miranda Brackett had 15 points, and Needles bolted to a 37-7 halftime lead en route to a win.
Chrystian Dick added 11 points for Needles.
Adelaide Lopez led The Meadows with five points.
Agassi Prep 53, Calvary Chapel 46 — At Agassi Prep, Kayla Johnson scored 13 of her 21 points in the second half and had 14 rebounds as the Stars rallied from a 21-19 halftime deficit to tame the Lions.
Alannah Conway scored 17 points, and N’Dea Cottrell had 14 rebounds for Agassi Prep.
Anna Duerden led the Lions with 23 points, and teammate Samantha Mann had 14 points.
Lincoln County 65, West Wendover 56 — At West Wendover, Melanie Florence had 16 points to help the Lynx down the Wolverines.
Marissa Smerek added 12 points and Mary Culverwell scored 10 for Lincoln County.
Danika Sharp scored 38 points for West Wendover.
Henderson International 28, Beatty 24 — At Henderson International, Brittany Huff had 12 points, seven rebounds and six steals to lead the Wolverines past the Hornets.
Kaitlin Ulrich scored six points to lead Beatty, which was held scoreless in the first quarter.
Pahranagat Valley 46, Tonopah 15 — At Alamo, Dakota Day had 13 points and 13 rebounds to help the Panthers roll past the Muckers.
Halie Lewis added nine points and 12 rebounds for Pahranagat, which took control by outscoring Tonopah 12-2 in the second quarter.
Trinity 35, Indian Springs 21 — At Indian Springs, the visiting Thunder rolled to a 13-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back.
Andrea Martinez led Trinity with 14 points.
White Pine 48, Mountain View 31 — At Ely, Alex Hall had 10 points to lead the Bobcats over the Saints.
Briana Marruffo had 18 points for Mountain View.
