Somebody there at FH is very defensive naming out specific players. It was not referring to just FH if you read it the statement refers to the entire valley and lack of talent.

Changes premise was that the bigs are not young because they are juniors and seniors. My premise was two fold. 1. The bigs are not seniors. 2. The bigs that are juniors are in fact "young" on varsity experience with little to none before this season. Further, it is a bit unfair to blame them as the Glanz as a senior, is much better than Glanz as a junior. The junior Glanz would not have come anywhere near 50 points against the "young" Foothil bigs, as Glanz was "young" himself as a junior last year.

Garner also does track. Clementi plays tennis, and track as well as in the filipina basketball league. He can't do anything on offense when hardly gets ball. Rougemore does tennis and track. Personally I think to much sports all year round is bad. Kids need to rest at some point and get there mind off of sports. Even college players get time off.

Once again somebody wanting to attack a comment without reading it properly. As far as the athletic part...most athletes can play at the high school basketball level. we are not referring to pro bball players here just high school bball. i havent seen a team that has that much talent that it is a "special" athletic skill to play bball. a "true athlete" can generally play most sports. nobody is hatin on anyone just stating the facts

The "bigs" are juniors not seniors, and they are juniors with little to no Varsity experience, much like most of hte team. That is why they are "young" Cresanto is a freshman, it does not get any younger than that! Unlike football, "athletes" does always equate a good basketball player. "Athletes" excel at football, while you need additional "skill" to play basketball. (I am not saying you do not need skill to play football, but many positions it is much easier to excel if you are athletic unlike basketball). As far as blaming the coaches for being selfish, well most of the coaches out here do not do much out of season so you are incorrect there. The problem is kids do not want to put in the work it takes to become a good player.

The roster also appears that you have several senior guards. coaches choice to play the young guards if they arent ready dont play them. Yet another excuse. the entire division doesnt have talent. there has to be better athletes at these schools than what is playin. all acrossed the valley the talent pool is hurting. this is probably due to the coaches all makin the athletes specialize in one sport. selfish on coaches part not fair to players of multiple sports. what happened to the days that a player can play football basketball and baseball and not have the coaches threatening them for not being there during the off season. the niaa needs to really look at the coaches and the rules. this is high school sports not the pros

why so much hate on Foothill? wrote on February 04, 2010 04:30 PM: Not sure why you guys are hating on Foothill so much? Soares is doing a great job considering the youth and talent level they have, and they will still win the division. It is hard to play defense with so many young guys who are not mature enough physically to play the usual Foothill pressure defense. Foothill and Coronado can both win at least 1 game in the playoffs, but it is C Springs Sunrise conference to lose at the moment. How would you rank the coaching in the SE? 1. Soares 2. Bentz (he does a great job considering what they get to work with over there at Basic IMO) 3. Welby 4. Del Sol (I hear the new HC is alright 5-7 are a toss up between: Childress/Berg/Svensen I did not include Vo-Tech because they should be in 3a!

WOW wrote on February 04, 2010 03:04 PM: This is the same as the other night against Coronado. Foothill has NO defense. Evan can score all of the points he can/wants but if you cant stop the other team by playing defense it doesnt matter. Playoffs will be a short story for this entire division. None of the teams are good. So much for that undefeated season coach. well done.
