ROUNDUP: Watkins' near-perfect game leads Gator boys into Sunrise final

Aaron Watkins came up two pins short of a perfect game Wednesday at The Orleans, settling for a 298 game that helped Green Valley’s boys bowling team to a 7-2 win over Coronado in a Sunrise Region semifinal.
Greg Shuerger added a 264 game for the Gators, who will meet Tech in Thursday’s region final.
The Roadrunners, led by Dallas Leong’s 694 series, posted a 9-0 sweep of Chaparral.
Garrett Page rolled a tournament-best 735 series to help Centennial to a 5-4 win over Spring Valley in a Sunset Region semifinal.
Spring Valley’s Kevin Trieu rolled a 267 game.
The Bulldogs will face Shadow Ridge in the Sunset final on Thursday. The Mustangs swept Arbor View, 9-0.
GIRLS
Andie Szekely posted a 234 game inside her tournament-best 636 series to lead Arbor View to a 7-2 win over Desert Oasis in a Sunset Region semifinal.
The Aggies will meet Cimarron-Memorial in the region final Thursday. The Spartans, led by Jenna Graydon’s 247 game, defeated Centennial, 7-2.
Basic’s Cassie Brown fired a 233 game and a 632 series to help the Wolves to a 9-0 win over Eldorado in a Sunrise Region semfinal.
The Wolves will face Liberty in the region final Thursday. The Patriots were 7-2 winners over Tech.
