Gaels’ Powell earns PARADE All-America honors

Bishop Gorman running back Shaquille Powell has been named to the PARADE All-America football team.
Powell, who was named the Review-Journal’s Class 4A Player of the Year, rushed for 2,458 yards and scored 44 total touchdowns in leading the Gaels to their third straight Class 4A state title.
The senior, who has committed to Duke, was one of seven running backs on the 53-player PARADE team.
