3A REGIONALS: Boulder City boys, girls win, move into finals

Matt Stewart scored on a shot from near midfield in the first half Friday to lead second-seeded Boulder City to a 2-0 win over third-seeded The Meadows in the Class 3A Southern League boys soccer semifinals at Mesquite.
The Eagles (8-7-3) will meet top-seeded Virgin Valley (11-9-2) in the title match at 11 a.m. today.
Yann Moncayo added a second-half goal for Boulder City.
Victor Andrades made four saves to shut out the Mustangs (4-7-3).
Virgin Valley 8, Adelson School 1 — Gabe Medina had two goals and two assists to help the Bulldogs eliminate the Lions.
Danny Medina scored two goals for Virgin Valley, which also got goals from Tony Villalobos, John To, Pedro Fuentes and Marco Aguilar.
Mendy Berrebi scored for Adelson School (3-7).
GIRLS
Moapa Valley 2, Virgin Valley 1 — Brandy Thompson’s goal with four minutes remaining lifted the second-seeded Pirates (5-9-1) past the third-seeded and host Bulldogs (2-13-1).
Cindy Meyer also scored for Moapa Valley, which will meet top-seeded Boulder City (9-6) for the title at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Estefanny Camacho netted Virgin Valley’s goal.
Boulder City 3, Adelson School 0 — Jeanette McQuillan scored twice as the Eagles moved into the final by blanking the Lions (0-9).
Gabriela Correales also scored for Boulder City. Mikaela Stevens was in goal for the shutout.
