Shadow Ridge’s girls took five of the top seven spots to hold off Palo Verde on Tuesday at The Meadows.
Shadow Ridge had a team score of 24, nine points better than the Panthers. The Meadows (85) was third. Virgin Valley (94) took fourth.
Michelle Schenck led the Mustangs, placing second in the 2.6-mile race in 18 minutes and 27 seconds. Shadow Ridge packed four runners — Megan Castro (19:05), Palolo Prince (19:09), Ashley Graf (19:17) and Malorie Reese (19:35) — to finish fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh.
Palo Verde’s Kelsi Koch won the race in 18:22.
Chargers capture top three spots in win
At Clark, the host Chargers took the top three positions on the way to capturing a four-team meet.
Clark finished with a team score of 30. Durango was second with 49 points, followed by Bonanza (64) and Pahrump Valley (124).
Elisa Vasquez led the Clark charge across the finish line, winning the 2.5-mile race in 18:23. Kira Espinoza-Levy was second in 19:03, followed by Julianna Thornock in 19:21.
Carrell leads Aggies to win
At Arbor View, Katie Carrell easily outdistanced the field to lead the Aggies to a win.
Carrell finished the 2.4-mile race in 14:50, more than a minute faster than the second-place finisher.
Arbor View took the top three spots and finished with a team score of 19. Bishop Gorman (40) was second, followed by Cheyenne (75).
Basic’s depth leads to victory
At Basic, Green Valley took spots Nos. 4-8 to win with 30 points despite not having any runners in the top three spots.
Eldorado’s Claudia Gonzalez won the 2.5-mile race in 18:04, followed by Valley’s Wendy Villa (18:13) and Basic’s Lugo Lilianna (18:28).
Clarke Knight paced Green Valley with a fourth-place finish of 18:58.
